Your Local School Districts

Public libraries and public schools ideally should be working hand-in-hand to provide the best resources and services to facilitate the education of our local community. A good way to keep informed of the different activities taking place in the local schools is by viewing the local school district websites and/or signing up for school email lists. Below are links to a few of the different school districts we serve :

I get the Cherry Creek Communicator via e-mail at home. When i have time to read it I usually find it informative. I will look at it with librarian's eyes in the future...

Periodically checking the websites of the schools in our area is a great way to keep up on what is going on and get ideas on how to partner with them. For example, the Cherry Creek Website talks about a new elementary school in our area that recently opened. This will be something we need to know about for our school visit lists. On Littleton's website, I discovered that they have a new "Community Conversations" blog linked from their home page. Members of the community can comment on topics posted, similar to this blog. This could be an opportunity to comment and share about a related resource or event at our libraries. I got many other ideas by browsing these sites and I am sure you will too!
